Mobile Desoot Enable – Mobile (moving vehicle) Desoot (removal of soot). This option gives you the ability to enable or activate the diesel particulate filter regeneration cycle whenever you choose to.
This filtration cycle will clean your vehicles exhaust of built up soot or particles which also lowers the emissions that come out of your vehicle. Normally the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) within your vehicle will activate this cycle under the minimum required soot load routine such as if the filter is dirty or if the vehicle is operating at the conditions necessary to perform the cycle.
How to use Mobile Desoot – Enable Mobile Desoot, then drive
where it is legal to drive between 50 and 60 mph for up to 45 minutes.
Regeneration events appear to last for about 15 minute intervals, so the filter
will be partially cleaned if the time driven at highway speed is less than the 45
minutes. You can come to an idle as long as the idle is not for a long enough
period of time for the exhaust gas temperature to drop to 525F. The Mobile
Desoot will automatically shutoff/disable once the filter regeneration has
finished.
